Venue and Accommodation

Note that this is a hybrid meeting with online participation also available.

For in person participants, the conference will take place at Golden Impalas Bush Resort, about 1 hour away from Johannesburg’s OR Tambo International Airport.

Participants are responsible for booking their accommodation. Accommodation has been reserved at Golden Impalas Bush Resort at a special rate for the conference. Participants can book their accommodation by emailing Historical registration or contact information removed. using the code SPARCS 22.

• Accommodation should be confirmed by no later than 1 September 22.
• Accommodation cost are ZAR2250 per person per night with an additional once off conservation Fee, ZAR80 per delegate and ZAR50 per vehicle (once off)
• Accommodation cost includes Dinner, Bed and Breakfast

Monday 21 November is reserved for arrivals with a welcome event in the evening. The scientific programme will start on Tuesday 22 November. Due to the conference taking place in a wildlife reserve, it is impractical to fly in on Tuesday morning and be on time to join the conference.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

• Game drives: all conference participants will receive a discounted price on all game drives at ZAR300,00 per person. Please note that this will be at your own cost. There are 3 game drive vehicles that can take up to 10 people at a time.
• Please note that breakfast and dinner will be served at the main conference venue. Breakfast will be served at 07:30am till 10:00am. Dinner will be served at 17:30pm till 20:30pm. All meals are included in the costs.
• A special dinner/bush braai will take place on Thursday evening, 24 November 2022.
• There will be two transfers, one in the morning and one in the evening, between the accommodation venues and the main conference venue. This will be at no cost.
• Please note that airport transfers to and from the airport will be at your own cost. Please contact the venue, Historical registration or contact information removed., to reserve your transfer booking. This cost is unfortunately not included in the room rate.
• Registration will take place on Monday, 21 November, from 16:00pm onwards.
