Potlako Makua
Potlako Makua is a young South African professional who is proficient in many areas. Trained to be an astrophysicist, she works as a Data Scientist by day and as a budding business mogul by night.
Makua obtained her undergraduate degree in Astrophysics and Applied Mathematics from the University of the Witwatersrand. During this time she worked as a student intern at the South African Radio Astronomy Observatory (SARAO), gaining exposure to data science through the Square Kilometre Array telescope.
Makua then moved into the corporate space, working with analytics, data engineering and telecommunications. She currently works as a technology manager for the Microsoft group at Accenture; her client scope ranges from providing solutions architecture for cloud computing capabilities to developing data science-driven solutions to enhance products and service offerings.
