Independently organised hackathon running this week in Namibia

Dr. Lameck Amugongo is a DARA Big Data alum who has been part of ur hackathons before. This week, he takes the resources compiled on this OAD page and runs with it at the Namibia University of Science and Technology with a new generation of student-hackers keen to develop their data science skills.

A rich programme with researchers and scientists entertain the participants before they team up and hone their skills on a number of data science challenges. The hackers will be able to use the ilifu cloud computing facility for this event. Later this week, the teams will have spent a relentless few days working together, coding together, trying to interpret their findings and preparing presentations for a group of judges. They will be assessed on their learning, team work and general progress, but the most important is that they will have had fun while learning and that their skill set contributes to their future successes.

Good luck to the NUST Hackathon participants and congratulations to the organising team!
