The Inter-University Institute for Data Intensive Astronomy at the University of the Western Cape is proud to announce that a new team member has joined us as a postdoctoral research fellow, Dr. Fangxia An.
Dr. An will be working with IDIA Researcher Dr. Mattia Vaccari on the HELP-IDIA Panchromatic PrOject (HIPPO) on developing techniques to best use multiwavelength data for the scientific exploitation of MeerKAT Radio Surveys such as MIGHTEE and MeerKLASS. Dr. An will be involved in the development and optimization of tools for the physical characterisation of radio sources applying SED fitting and/or machine learning techniques to multiwavelength data, and will also be developing an independent research plan in MeerKAT survey science.
